Green jobs and women workers: Employment, equity, equality
The report explores the creation of green jobs in various sectors and analyzes to what extent women workers have access to these positions. It discusses the necessary policy measures that must be adapted to ensure the inclusion of the gender dimension into the green jobs agenda and the role of unions in the organization of women workers in the emerging green economy.
Case studies of the experiences of women in green sector jobs in developed and developing countries are cited to illustrate the main arguments. At the end, proposals are made for recruiting, training and retaining women for the sustainable jobs of the future.
