Country policy brief: Australia: The Jobs and Training Compact
The policy brief explores labour market policies put in force by the Australian government as a response to the recent crisis. Their focus has been on skills development, increased resources for training and special assistance for disadvantaged groups and regions. Since 2009, the main vehicle for delivering this approach has been the Jobs and Training Compact. The brief provides an overview of this initiative, describes its key objectives, measures included in it and target groups.
