Blurb (brief description):
Abstract: International labour standards are one of the ILO’s primary means of action to improve working and living conditions of women and men, and promote equality in the workplace for all workers.

The four key ILO gender equality Conventions are: Equal Remuneration Convention, 1951 (No. 100), Discrimination (Employment and Occupation) Convention, 1958 (No.111), Workers with Family Responsibilities, 1981(No. 156), Maternity Protection Convention, 2000 (No. 183). Conventions 100 and 111 are also among the eight fundamental Conventions of the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. Other relevant ILO instruments include Part-time Work Convention, 1994 (No. 175), Home Work Convention, 1996 (No. 177), the Worst Forms of Child Labour Convention, 1999 (No. 182), the Declaration on Equality of Opportunity and Treatment for Women Workers (1975), the Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work (1998) and Social Protection Floors Recommendation, 2012 (No. 202).
