The ILO’s Inter-American Centre for Knowledge Development in Vocational Training (ILO/Cinterfor) is a service of the International Labour Organization (ILO), created in 1963 and established in Montevideo, Uruguay. With the support of its network of Vocational Training Institutions (VTIs), it has been the pioneer in promoting knowledge management and South-South and triangular cooperation for the improvement of labour skills. This network gathers more than 65 VTI (public and private) from 27 countries in Latin America, the Caribbean, and Spain. Its knowledge-sharing platform makes available useful and practical materials relevant to the development of employment skills (teaching resources, competencies, and publications) and provides virtual communities for the ongoing sharing of experience among specialists, academics, and training institutions in the Americas and with other regions.
